Face The Facts.

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

I’m so glad that my car is small and Japanese that it hurts sometimes. I was out in Dayton today and on the way back I saw a few gas stations proclaiming $3.09 per gallon for gas. I started smashing my face against the window for having only gotten $5 worth of gas yesterday when it was only like $2.60 (you see, in AndrewLand, getting only $5 worth of expensive gas is a good idea because the gas prices will surely go down in the near future. Unfortunately, until the invasion happens, the real world is nothing like AndrewLand.).

The Road Has Been Good.

:://EDIT
Beth has indeed posted some good pictures from the trip. Check them out on her xanga.

The Wisconsin trip went incredibly well and was an awesome experience. We did tons of hiking (in both rain and shine) and stargazing, saw a few black bears and lots of deer, rode horses, ate great food, and all sort of other various tomfoolery. I think Beth took roughly 90,000 pictures, and I’m sure she’ll post them on her site, so when she does I’ll stick a link on here.

I know, I know, you were just starting to get used to me being back in Ohio. I’m sorry, but this is just the way it’s going to have to be. Starting early tomorrow morning I’ll be setting out on yet another out-of-state driving expedition, but this time with a pack of hoodlums and scoundrels rather than my dear ‘ole family. I doubt I’ll update or even see much of the Internet, because frankly, who’d want to be on a computer when you could be tromping about in the great outdoors of Wisconsin? (that’s a rhetorical question) Unless of course a bear mauls me or something equally story worthy happens, but even then I might just have to wait till I get home to write about it. I’ll be back the 29th I believe, and so until then: have a nice life.

Scratch DJ vs. Shamisen Battle

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

Scratch DJ and shamisen player duo tear it up with some traditional Japanese hip-hop. The video gets really good about three minutes into it, though the whole thing is pretty great. Download it here or stream it here (only stream if you don’t mind some racy personal ads).

I Want Chips!

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

Classes at UC start in a month minus one day. I’m a little excited, though I know that’ll quickly wear off as soon as I actually start attending classes. Nevertheless, I’ll be living on my own and probably getting mugged every night, so it’s bound to be an exciting time.
