Cincinnati Misses Me

Monday, October 31st, 2005

The beginning of this year is shaping up more and more like the end of last year. I was back for yet another action-packed weekend in Fairborn. I didn’t actually do a whole lot aside from spending time with the family. I spent most of Saturday helping my mom put some finishing touches on a house she was going to show on Sunday. Later that evening I met up with a couple guys and we went to see Saw 2. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re mind and stomach are probably in a much better condition than mine.

Mitten Adventure

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

I bought a neat hat and some mittens today. Now I can bike in comfort and style! I’d gone out to the Tri-County Mall to try and find both these items, but nobody seems to consider mittens a popular enough item to carry. Not as far as the mall is concerned anyway. Before I gave up I went into Abercrombie & Fitch to ask an employee if they knew where I could find some mitten. //::Edit — Happy Mole Day! I can’t believe I forgot to say it yesterday.

It’s been a fun weekend, and as weird as it is to say, I’m ready to go back to class. I really love living by myself, but you don’t realize how much human interaction adds to your day until you spend a few days without it. I spent nearly all of today studying for my logic exam (just FYI, to study for a philosophy exam you generally try to figure out what your professor is going to ask and then try to write out as long an essay as you can about it. So, in preparation I spent most of today reading and writing about Plato’s Theory of Ideas, Aristotle’s Theory of Matter and Form, and Set Theory) and while it was really great having so much uninterrupted time to get things done, I’m ready to go back to class, even if it’s just to sit in a room full of people I don’t know. Though, I’ve decided that this week I’m going to make it my goal to meet some new people, even if it means ambushing some unexpected bystanders around campus.

Free Doom

Friday, October 21st, 2005

On Wednesday when I went to pick up the latest and greatest comics, the guy at Clifton Comics gave me a free pass for two people to go see an advanced screening of the Doom movie. Even though I hadn’t really planned on going to see it, I figured, hey, a free movie. Why not? I didn’t, however, want to go by myself, so I figured the next person I talked to would get an invite to share this free movie mayhem with me. That happened to by my friend Ryan, since it was Wednesday after all and that’s when new comics come out and consequently when all comic nerds do most of their communicating.
