You may or may not remember my complaint in the previous entry about my difficulties finding this quarter’s Japanese class. Well, as I mentioned, the class is held in a new building; one that I’d never really thoroughly investigated until now. On Wednesday I was walking up the steps to the main entrance and was struck by a startling revelation. Not only was this building sort of old and very out of the way, but it had two giant gargoyle style pelicans flanking the doorway.

Frosty First Days

March 29, 2006

Spring quarter classes have begun and things have been as wacky as ever. On Monday the only class I had was Japanese, but even that turned into an ordeal when it took me nearly twenty minutes to find the right building. I’m still not completely familiar with all the buildings of the arts and science college, and apparently over spring break somebody came and tore down all the way finding points (they were basically just tall rectangular boxes that had a map on one side and arrows pointing the direction to various other buildings on the other three sides). They were pretty tacky looking, but removing them totally made my life a lot harder. Luckily nobody really cares if you make it to class on time the first day. I mean, 90% of professors only pass out the syllabus and say, “Uh, please come to class and do your homework! Seeya next time.”

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

March 25, 2006

It’s been a great spring break, all except for the part when spring forgot to show up. Nevertheless, it has been nice having a week to sloth it up a little. I think next quarter is going to be pretty wild. I’ll post my schedule when I get it finalized and am actually attending classes (you never know when you’ll have to make a last minute schedule change because a class is located across town).

March 21, 2006

Spring break started this week and in the steadfast tradition of Ohio it’s snowing outside. Otherwise it’s been a nice break from the norm. I’ve no job, school, or really anything at all to worry about, which is a good feeling (for a little while at least). This leaves lots of time for me to play my new video game, which is all about farming.

March 16, 2006

One more exam and winter quarter ’06 is finished. The week has been remarkably dull though. Neither of my two exams so far this week has taken longer than a half hour to complete. That’s probably just because I’m a genius, but it has left me with a lot of free time. I guess this might be helping to ease me into spring break when I’m going to have absolutely nothing to do. Maybe I could start making tofu sculptures.
