Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008About a week ago I made the trip home for Thanksgiving. It was the last time I’d see my grandparents before leaving for Japan, so I tried to make it a special event by preparing some small Japanese dishes to have with the main meal. I’ve come to really enjoy cooking for people, plus it was a good opportunity to show off my new knives and talk, I’m sure, to everyone’s exhaustion about the quirks and intricacies of Japanese cuisine. I suppose it’s a testament to my madness that on my one day off from the restaurant I spent a couple of hours cooking the kind of food served there.
