一ヶ月ぐらい後で他の日本食の本を読み返している間に豆腐の料理法をぐう然に気がつきました。「ああ！」と言って、頭の中に何か、あんがはえ始めました。次の日スーパに行きました。大豆を見つけた時に「うわ！高い！びっくり」と思いました。一丁豆腐を作るために二百五十グラムが必要だったが、二百五十グラムの大豆は二百円ぐらいでした。これはすごく以外に高いと思いました。アメリカでは大豆はざっそうみたいに多いです。たしか僕のいなかには、どこを見ても大豆のはらを見られるくらいです。そうかと言っても、本当に豆腐を作る経験がほしかった。買おうか豆腐を作ることを忘れようかと迷いました。結局大豆とにがりを自転車のにだいにつんで帰りました。

As you may have noticed I’ve started writing a bit in Japanese. I think it’ll become a regular part of the blog, so to those of you who don’t speak Japanese go my deepest apologies. But it’s really good language practice for me, plus I’m sure it’ll be entertaining for my Japanese friends. One of my greatest pleasures as an English teacher is reading things that my students write, and pondering over their often unintentionally hilarious word and grammar usage. So it’s my hope that my own writing will bring the same sort of joy to others.
